About AQSR

Overview

AQSR makes long links shorter and easier to share.

Paste a web address, create a short link, and share it wherever you need it. Opening the short link takes visitors to the original destination.

You can use the current service without creating an account. The interface is designed to keep the process straightforward, with a clear input, a short result, and a copy button.

This documentation explains the project, its name and visual identity, how links work, and the conditions that apply to using the service.

Our Purpose

Less space. The same destination.

Long web addresses can be difficult to read, type, or place in a message. AQSR gives them a compact address that is easier to share.

Our aim is a simple, dependable service that focuses on the essential task: creating a short link and sending visitors to its destination.

A shorter address does not change the ownership, content, or access requirements of the destination website. If the original page requires a password or permission, its own requirements still apply.

Why AQSR?

An Arabic idea, expressed in a compact name.

AQSR is inspired by the Arabic word «أقصر», written here as aqsar, which means “shorter.”

For Arabic speakers, the name connects directly with the purpose of the service: making a link shorter. For people from other languages and cultures, it introduces the same idea through an Arabic word.

AQSR is a compact Latin-letter name inspired by that word, rather than a strict academic transliteration or an abbreviation of an English phrase.

The name uses four letters, while the .link extension makes its connection with web links clear.

AQSR: a shorter link, with the same destination.

Logo Concept

The Q from AQSR meets the slash found in URLs.

The logo combines a geometric form inspired by the letter Q with the forward slash / used in web addresses.

Together, they create a compact connection mark. The connected shape suggests a link, while the short slash reflects the idea of shortening its presentation.

Black and white keep the identity clear and simple across light and dark backgrounds.

The symbol represents the service and its purpose. It is not a certification that a destination website is safe, verified, or endorsed by AQSR.

How It Works

Paste. Shorten. Share.

1. Paste your link

Enter a complete web address beginning with http:// or https://.

2. Shorten it

Select Shorten link. When the request succeeds, AQSR displays the shortened address.

3. Copy and share

Select Copy, then paste the short link into your message, document, or other sharing channel.

4. Open the destination

Anyone opening the short link is redirected to the original address.

Short codes are case-sensitive. Copy the complete link as shown; changing an uppercase letter to lowercase, or the reverse, may lead to a different or unavailable address.

If you submit an address already stored by the service, AQSR may return its existing short link.

Disabled links retain their code and destination and return HTTP 410 without redirecting. Authorized administrators can restore them after review. Submitting the same normalized destination while a matching link is disabled does not create a replacement; other existing codes are not silently changed.

Standard links currently have no scheduled expiry date.

AQSR aims to keep valid links available while the service operates. We do not guarantee that every link will remain available permanently.

A short link may stop working because the destination has changed, the original website is unavailable, the code was copied incorrectly, or AQSR is experiencing a technical issue.

We may restrict or disable a link when there is a credible concern involving harmful content, prohibited use, a legal request, or interference with the service. A link may also be restricted while a report is reviewed.

An unavailable short link does not always mean the destination is harmful.

The current service does not provide self-service editing or deletion of links. To request a review, email [email protected] with the short link and an explanation. We may need information establishing your relationship to the destination before making a change.

A request does not guarantee removal, editing, or restoration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account?

No. The current service allows you to create and open short links without a user account.

Which links can I shorten?

AQSR accepts supported web addresses beginning with http:// or https://, subject to validation and the Acceptable Use Policy.

Does shortening change the destination?

The short link points to the original destination recorded by AQSR. The destination website controls its own content and access requirements.

Are short links case-sensitive?

Yes. Uppercase and lowercase letters are different. Copy and share the link exactly as displayed.

Why did I receive the same short link again?

AQSR may reuse an existing short link when you submit an address it already recognises.

Do links expire?

Standard links currently have no scheduled expiry date. Availability is subject to the Link Availability & Disabling policy.

Can I edit or delete a link myself?

The current version does not offer self-service editing or deletion. You can contact us to request a review.

Does a short link mean the destination is safe?

No. A short link is not a safety certificate or an endorsement of the destination.

Can I shorten a private or confidential link?

Shortening does not make a link private. Anyone with the short link can open it and discover its destination. Avoid submitting passwords, password-reset links, private access tokens, or addresses containing confidential information.

Why am I seeing an error or a request limit?

Check the address and try again. If you have made several requests quickly, wait before retrying. Request limits help protect the service from excessive or automated use.

How do I report a harmful or broken link?

Email [email protected] with the AQSR short link and a clear description of the problem.

AQSR connects you to websites operated by others.

The service checks submitted addresses for supported formats and applies controls intended to protect its operation. Successfully creating a short link does not establish that the destination or its content is safe.

AQSR uses HTTPS and Cloudflare for website delivery and protection. These protect aspects of the connection and service; they do not certify the content of every destination.

A website can change after a short link is created. Even a familiar destination may later display different content.

Before entering passwords, payment details, or personal information, check the destination address and whether you trust the website.

AQSR does not operate or control external websites. Their content, availability, privacy practices, and terms are their own.

If a link appears suspicious, use the reporting instructions below.

Acceptable Use Policy

Use AQSR to share legitimate web addresses.

Do not use the service to create or distribute links involving:

  • Phishing, impersonation, or attempts to obtain passwords, payment details, or other information deceptively.
  • Malware, harmful downloads, or instructions intended to compromise devices or accounts.
  • Fraud, scams, or misleading redirects designed to conceal harmful activity.
  • Illegal content or material you are not authorised to distribute.
  • Exposure of another person’s confidential information without permission.
  • Spam or abusive distribution.
  • Attempts to bypass request limits, access controls, or disabled links.
  • Traffic intended to disrupt AQSR or another service.

Do not create replacement links to evade a restriction on the same harmful destination.

Automated use must respect the controls actually provided by the service. The presence of a website endpoint does not establish an unrestricted public API.

We may reject requests, restrict access, or disable links while investigating misuse. If you believe a restriction is incorrect, email [email protected] with the relevant link and supporting information.

Terms of Use

About these terms

These terms apply to your use of AQSR at aqsr.link. By using the service, you agree to these terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.

The service

AQSR creates short web addresses that redirect visitors to recorded destinations. The current service is available without a user account.

Features, limits, and availability may change as the service develops. These pages describe the service currently offered.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the addresses you submit and how you distribute the resulting links.

You must have any permission needed to share a destination or its content. Do not use AQSR to conceal harmful activity, mislead others, or bypass controls.

Short links are accessible to anyone who has them. Do not treat shortening as encryption, password protection, or a way to keep a confidential address secret.

External destinations

AQSR does not control the websites reached through short links. Creating or hosting a short link does not imply endorsement, ownership, affiliation, or approval of its destination.

The destination website’s terms and access requirements continue to apply.

Availability and restrictions

We aim to operate a reliable service, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability or permanent operation of every link.

We may reject requests, change operational limits, or restrict links for security, prohibited use, technical needs, or applicable legal obligations. See Link Availability & Disabling for more information.

Limitations

To the extent permitted by applicable law, AQSR does not guarantee that external content is accurate, lawful, available, or safe, or that the service will be free from every error or interruption.

These terms do not exclude rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and contact

Updates to these terms will be published here with their revision date. Review the current terms when using the service.

Questions or review requests can be sent to [email protected].

Privacy Policy

Private accounts and Google sign-in

Google sign-in is restricted to approved email addresses; public registration is unavailable. Other accounts are rejected without saving an AQSR account or issuing an authenticated session. Account type (User or Administrator) is separate from approval to sign in: administration also requires Administrator access. Creating an account does not assign ownership of existing or anonymous links.

Google provides your stable account identifier (sub), email and verification status. We retain these, registration and latest sign-in times and, with your permission, your first and last names and Google photo URL. Google photos load directly without a page referrer; this does not itself store an image file in AQSR. We do not request Gmail, Drive or Contacts access, receive your Google password or retain Google access, refresh or ID tokens. Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Profile and preferences

You can save a display name and upload an account photo. AQSR stores the uploaded photo privately as a processed JPEG and serves it through authenticated account or administrator routes. Choosing Use Google photo removes the custom photo from the current account record; it does not remove the saved Google photo URL. Names and photos do not grant permissions.

We save your language, theme, time zone, date/time format and security, email-update and newsletter preferences. The three notification preferences start enabled for new accounts; existing choices are preserved. They can be changed in account settings. Email delivery and newsletter sending are not enabled in this version; saving a preference does not send mail or enroll you with an external mailing service. Browser theme/language and table-layout choices may also be saved in browser storage.

Activity, sessions and administration

Account activity records event type and time, such as sign-in/out, settings changes, exports and session revocations. The account view shows up to 50 recent events from the last 30 days; older entries are pruned when the account record is updated, not by a scheduled deletion task. Sessions also store a coarse browser/operating-system label derived from the browser’s request header, alongside the session hash, account reference, anti-forgery value and expiry. You can view and end your sessions; see Cookies & Browser Preferences for session durations.

Authorized administrators can view account names/photos, emails, account types, plan labels, registration/latest sign-in times, newsletter choices, recent activity and session counts; they can change account types, revoke sessions and export selected user-list fields. Account-type history retains up to 100 changes per account, including old/new type, acting administrator identifier and time. Link moderation keeps the actor identifier, time, status and reason with the link. User access does not permit administration; removing sign-in approval denies subsequent protected requests.

Export and account deletion

From account settings you can select profile, photo, preference and notification data to export. Administrators can additionally export site links with original/short addresses, creation dates and current status; these are site-wide links, not proof of personal ownership. Exports exclude session credentials and other accounts’ private data. File download is available; email export remains inactive.

You can delete your account after a recent Google sign-in and explicit confirmation. This removes the current account record, saved custom photo/preferences/activity and its authenticated sessions. It does not delete existing short links, link-moderation records, records retained in other accounts or protected backup copies. It does not remove the separate sign-in approval configuration: a later approved sign-in can create a new account. There is no automatic account-deletion period. Contact [email protected] for further review or deletion requests.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how AQSR handles information involved in creating and opening short links, operating the website, and responding to messages.

You do not need a user account to use the current service.

Links you submit

We store the original web address, its short code and the date the record was created, so we can redirect visitors.

A web address can itself contain personal or confidential information. Submit only information you are comfortable sharing through a link. Anyone with the short link can open it and discover its destination.

Technical request information

Website requests involve technical information such as an IP address, request time, requested address, browser information, and security events.

AQSR and its hosting and protection providers may process this information to deliver the service, enforce request limits, investigate errors, and respond to misuse.

Messages you send

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments or information you include.

We use this information to respond, investigate a reported problem, or assess a request concerning a link or personal information. Send only the information needed for that purpose.

Browser preferences

The website uses browser storage for interface preferences, including the theme and any language preference saved through an available language selector.

These preferences help keep your choices when you return using the same browser. See Cookies & Browser Preferences for details.

Service providers

AQSR uses Namecheap for hosting and Cloudflare for website delivery and protection. These providers may process technical information as part of providing their services.

Their privacy information is available at:

External destination websites operate independently and have their own privacy practices.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal information.

Information may be shared with providers as needed to operate the service, or disclosed where necessary to meet applicable legal obligations or investigate misuse.

Link records are retained to support redirection and the Link Availability & Disabling policy. Messages and operational information are kept for as long as reasonably needed for their purpose. Providers may apply their own retention periods to technical logs.

Deleted or changed records may remain in protected backups until those backups are replaced or expire.

Your requests

Email [email protected] to ask about information you have provided or request correction or deletion.

We may need enough information to identify the relevant record and verify your relationship to it. Available rights and exceptions depend on the law applicable to your circumstances.

Updates

Changes to this policy will be published here with their revision date.

Cookies & Browser Preferences

AQSR session cookie

AQSR uses a necessary, first-party, HttpOnly cookie for private Google sign-in. It contains a random identifier; only its hash, the account reference, anti-forgery value, expiry and optional coarse browser/operating-system label are saved privately on the server. An anonymous sign-in flow expires after 10 minutes; an authenticated session lasts up to 30 days without automatic extension and survives application restarts. Each browser has an independent session. Signing out ends that browser’s session; account settings can end other sessions. Removing sign-in approval denies subsequent protected requests, while changing the account type to User removes administration access. Secure cookies are used on HTTPS. Theme and language preferences remain separate.

Preferences and service operation

AQSR uses browser storage to remember interface choices, such as the light or dark theme and a language selected through an available language selector.

Browser storage is not the same as a cookie, but both can retain information in your browser.

Each language has its own address, and the address determines the language displayed. The language selector uses your saved choice or the browser’s preferred languages to suggest a supported language, falling back to English when none is supported. Suggestions do not automatically redirect you or change the language of the current address.

Hosting and protection services may also use cookies or similar mechanisms where needed to deliver the service, manage security checks, or protect administrative access.

This version does not use AQSR-installed advertising trackers or third-party audience analytics.

Your controls

You can change available preferences through the website. You can also remove site data through your browser’s settings.

Removing site data may reset your preferences. Blocking required browser mechanisms may affect parts of the interface or security checks.

For questions about browser storage or personal information, email [email protected].

Help us review harmful, misleading, or broken links.

Email [email protected] with:

  • The full AQSR short link.
  • The destination address, if you already know it.
  • A brief description of what appears wrong.
  • Any relevant information that supports your report.
  • Whether the concern is harmful content, impersonation, a technical failure, or another issue.

You do not need to open a suspicious destination or download a file to submit a report.

Do not include passwords, payment information, private access tokens, or unrelated personal documents.

We review reports and may request clarification. Depending on the issue, we may restrict the link during review, disable it, or explain why no change was made.

A report alone does not establish that a destination is harmful. We do not promise a fixed response time for every report.

If you believe a link was restricted incorrectly, use the same address to request a review and explain why.

Contact & Technical Issues

Contact AQSR at [email protected].

You can contact us about:

  • A link that is not working as expected.
